The Information Commissioner's Office has published its first systematic audit of EdTech providers used in UK schools.

The ICO published 'Edtech Examined' following a programme of consensual audits carried out during 2024 and 2025 with 28 EdTech providers whose products are widely used across primary and secondary schools in the UK. The providers collectively supply learning management and behaviour systems used by more than 70 per cent of UK schools, safeguarding and data integration systems used by more than 90 per cent, and management information systems used by more than 85 per cent.
