Children told researchers what they want from school technology. Schools are still not listening.
A study involving 450 pupils found clear views on what works, what does not, and what EdTech companies should change. The findings challenge assumptions held throughout the sector.

Children consulted as part of the Better EdTech Futures for Children project had unusually specific things to say about the technology they encounter in school. The research, conducted by the Digital Futures for Children centre , a joint initiative between the London School of Economics and the 5Rights Foundation , gathered views from more than 450 pupils and 20 teachers across England. The children did not object to technology in classrooms. What they objected to was technology used badly. Some reported that teachers relied too heavily on PowerPoint presentations, producing passive lessons th
