Steplab takes private equity backing. Its 200,000 teacher users make it one of the UK’s largest CPD platforms.
Pelican Capital has invested in Steplab, the instructional coaching and professional development platform used by more than 200,000 teachers and 60 per cent of England’s highest-performing schools. The investment will fund team expansion, deeper research and international growth.
Pelican Capital announced its investment in Steplab on 26 May, marking the private equity firm’s tenth platform investment and its second in the education sector following its backing of EMS in March. The investment is supported by a senior debt facility originated by Triple Point. Pelican Capital said its backing would support Steplab’s next phase of growth while preserving the impact-driven culture behind the business.
