The government announced the Home Learning Environment Challenge on 1 May, through the UK Research and Innovation Missions Accelerator Programme. The challenge, backed by more than £30 million in government funding and structured to leverage further private co-investment, will bring together researchers, local authorities, education leaders and private sector organisations to develop approaches to supporting families in preparing young children for school.
