Skills England has launched. What it means for EdTech providers navigating levy funding.

Skills England was formally established on 2 June 2025 following the closure of the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. It took over most of IfATE's functions, including responsibility for approving apprenticeship standards and overseeing technical education qualifications. It also has a new mandate: working with the Industrial Strategy Council and the Migration Advisory Committee to identify and address skills gaps across the economy. The government describes Skills England as a strategic body that will align workforce development with the priorities of the modern industria
